Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles were two appearances in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mother. She was not allowed to perform in front of her family until she reached adulthood, as they feared the strain it might cause. Perry claims she never wanted to become an actor during highschool but decided to start playing as a way to make friends at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry began her career as an actress in New York after graduation, landing minor parts in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homesickness led to Perry come back to California and pursue a career as an actress in the theater. The Other Place was performed by her and her mother in 2013 on Broadway in 2013 In 2015, she appeared alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on ABC's show The Family. In 2017 she had a recurring role on the ABC drama about politics Scandal starring her father. She played an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was an additional portrayal that was younger of her mother. The actress was chosen for the role despite having a close familial connection to the character.
